OOO... unfortunately your question seems to have slipped between the cracks...

"Excuse the layman’s question, but what does ‘large running room in event of (Samo) success’ mean?"

A: Room to "run and maneuver as desired", or "space permitting ample freedom and flexibility to operate, maneuver, or perform without impairment." (ref: dictionary.com)

In short, and mindful that the Samo result is due out around Melbourne Cup time, success would mean that FARlap breaks free of its shackles and bolts from Barrier 5 (the most successful starting position since 1925!) with significantly more control over it's destiny!

If Samo AND Soloo/Bambo come in, I shudder to think what FAR will do next with all that running room. You can rest assured they won't be resting on their laurels!
