Netraam , perhaps I misunderstood your original post and went on the defensive too quickly .

Going modular would not only reduce technology risk .

Massive plants requires their own dedicated site , political buy in with it's inherent meddling by civil servants and customers to arrange expensive complex off balance sheet financing .

They are subject to much more arduous environmental impact analysis and approvals processes and attract the attention of Luddites and protestors .

Massive plants tend by their very nature to be bespoke and allow less technology reuse .

Due to all that they have very extended timescales making it very difficult to reinvest the proceeds of one project into following ones to generate organic growth .

For the above reasons , even if Leaf manage to get massive plants to work , for Leaf and it's shareholders there is probably more money to be made from turnkey mini-plants .

Mini-plants can be manufactured on a production line (i.e. are a product rather than bespoke) , deployed to existing industrial sites which already have most of the required approvals and are already serviced by infrastructure .  They can be a balance sheet purchase and do not require complex financing from lenders .   By their modular nature they can scale as required and as Netraam pointed out provide redundancy .

The turnaround time is quicker allowing proceeds to be reinvested faster leading to a high rate of organic growth .

We should at least be told Leaf's policy on turnkey plants vs massive bespoke .
