Of course that's only true when other parameters are equal - is what I'm saying.
The higher the recharge voltage  - as measured across the battery terminals during recharge, increases as the recharging progresses - at a slower rate if electrolyte stirred. Â
If you try and recharge faster by increasing the voltage, you get side electrochemical reactions occurring - hydrogen at cathode - which is wasted recharge energy, dangerous & results in water loss and can damage electrodes.
So manufacturer's max recommended recharge rate considers all the above & is invariably a compromise
