I believe you will find that the Alexium advantage is that the current polyester fibers that are used will be replaced entirely by cotton. Cotton does not present the bio-hazard that the polyester represents since it does not break down into micro-particles that pollute the environment. It is not a case of the NF treatment making cotton biodegradable.
Polyester has had to be used because there has not been a way of FR treating cotton. Cotton is the obvious choice for fleece but that choice has not previously been available. It now is.
