Q - What are your thoughts on why they haven't announced this as yet?Tony,
I'd like to see some positive commentary around it at some stage, especially as C10 refers to it as "our protected data centre".
If I was to play devil's advocate to your question, I'd say ...
If you look at the landing page provided at the footer, you'll see it seems to be under the control of F5.
Even the url www.protecteddatacentre.com redirects to F5.
F5 has an $8b MC on the Nasdaq and perhaps their underlying products form the basis of this new/combined offering with C10.
So it's possible F5 has had some say, in what we can/can't say?
On p11 of the recent presentation they mention C10 will be launching their first protected data solution for the AWS cloud during the December quarter. Is that enough? Probably not and many here on HC might have stronger views.
I'm not sure if it's how Jeff goes about marketing or the ASX listing requirements or some combination that is resulting in what appears to be a subdued approach to marketing the business units.
For example in the private sector I often follow Versent.
Versent would have to be a competitor to C10 in the AWS consulting/migration space. I can't remember if they were spun out of NAB, or the key personnel left NAB but contracted back to NAB. Anyway, they seem to have done well since their inception.
Here is a company that appears to be a couple of years ahead of C10, but still growing at approx 100% YOY, and had revenue of approx $54m as at 30/6/19.(I think their revenue is boosted as they are/were the sole distributor for Ping Identity as an IAM solution).
They appear to be a well oiled marketing operation - you'd only need to spend 15-30 minutes on their website to get a feel for how they market themselves. They seem to have no problem listing their ASX200 clients.
Is the difference in approach between Vortiv and Versent due to management, the maturity of the business, ASX listing requirements and/or some combination?
Personally I'm not sure. Sometimes I feel strongly about this and other times I think it's still yet to truly unfold for Vortiv.
