PCR tests are highly specific to the DNA sequence of the pathogen and therefore highly accurate. GSS reduces the amount of redundant information in the DNA and that makes the tests faster. It works a bit like MPEG video compression. It loses some information during compression but doesn't noticeably reduce the overall quality. Other than this compression, the GSS technology is no different to standard PCR tests. The company has emphasized that it's technology is compatible with standard PCR workflows.
