American pharmaceutical companies, and probably other countries will have been watching this trial as DXB is leading the way. These big companies tend to wait until successful trials are completed and then swoop in with a buy out deal for the drug and they then take the drug through to completion and marketing as their own product. So a successful result here could have led to a 300 to 600 million buyout which would have doubled the share price at least allowing DXB to pay a special dividend and fund its future drugs. This could still happen but as it looks like the drug works best on the more sicker patients then the deal will not be as sweet.
