Over time I have taken trading profits and over the last few years I have put half those profits into my pet project, an R&D company, and the other half into gold stocks. Gold stocks which have doubled in value since Codit19 reared its ugly head.

It is because TAS has moved ahead and leaving EDE behind that has made relative value trades impossible. The lack of liquidity in TAS has also been a factor. I also believe that TAS is the "Sullivans" signature company and as such will remain a long running saga. The current relative value shows that up.

I have no wish to end up the richest man in the cemetery. I have never aimed at attaining massive wealth. I have made bricks and mortar my main investment and share trading and investing has been more of a challenge than a vocation. If I knew my "end date" I would pass on leaving $1 to be argued over.

My best investment over the last few years was to spend over $50,000 getting most of our large extended family together to celebrate our 60th wedding anniversary. With the family spread over Queensland, NSW, Tasmania and West Australia it was a massive task. It was made more difficult with it being a surprise party for my wife who was kept in the dark until the gang were all assembled for lunch. It involved matching flight times, booking a whole motel and function room and organising a lunch menu.
