Not only is this a good deal at face value (not overpaying, intimate knowledge of the business being acquired, synergy opportunities, alignment of the vendors etc.), but the most significant aspect of it, in my mind, is to be found in the highlighted area of the following slide tucked reasonably far back in the presentation:





In the context of the negotiations with Goodyear in relation to future Australia/NZ supply agreements involving Cooper tyres, this acquisition is far more astute than it might appear, at first blush.
