Yeah I thought Thinkingvalue was talking about further on market buybacks, but it seems that they were talking about the CR. I agree that sales are the real issue, but for many the difference in the ATO ruling the return of capital as a dividend could be thousands of dollars. I expect some people may have even sold their shares to avoid incurring this tax hit (take the capital as CGT rather than a payout)
