- It is trivially easy to get a patent. Far less less than 1% have any commercial value. Around 85% of them are disallowed when challenged by a competitor.
- Edencrete was also developed by a student in lab. It is totally straightforward industrial chemistry. The exact methods for dispersing and stabilising CNT have been described in great detail in the scientific literature.
Most of the 'promising' work on CNT was preliminary laboratory scale work on cement mortar - not concrete. It behaves very differently to concrete. Subsequent work has shown that CNT is basically a very expensive way to make mediocre concrete.
