    You can go to any university in Australia and licence a 'ground breaking' technology for $10K. What you actually get is a PhD project that often needs decades and hundreds of millions (even billions) to turn into a commercial product. The chance of success is probably far less than 1%.

    Any valuable technology is usually purchased by a big company at a very early stage for big bucks. It doesn't end up in the hands of some ASX Penny Dreadful.
