"Accumulate Energy Alaska, Inc. (AEA) is proposing to drill an exploration well, Hickory #1, beginning in February, 2023. The well will be drilled from a temporary600-foot by 600-foot ice pad located 30 miles south of Deadhorse and roughly 0.30 miles past Dalton Highway MP 382. The pad will sit approximately 400 feetwest of the Dalton, connected by a 500-foot ice road. The combined area of the ice infrastructure should total around 8.66 acres."

Erik appears to be preoccupied with pursuits at Jade in the Pt. Thompson Unit. See article in today's Petroleum News Alaska. Erik's absence from the Hickory well is neither here nor there with regard to drilling beginning in February 2023. It's irrelevant.

Mile 30 on the Dalton. Costs for mob and de-mob will be diminimus compared with the Merlin #1 and #2. The Dalton Highway is flat as a pancake for the first 40 miles or more. The drill pad will be at mile 30 and only requires a tenth of a mile of ice road - nothing. Using camping as a metaphor, the Hickory well will be about as challenging as camping in your back yard, with an REI store two blocks away. If you forgot something you want or need, it's easily accessed. The Merlin wells were like camping 100 miles from any sign of civilization along the Pacific Crest Trail - with the requirement of carrying everything you need in your pack.
