I also read the metallurgy report that Metallica released when they produced their few kgs of samples (ann dated 15/10/12). Directly from that report:
The average iron, magnesium and aluminium content of the samples were 25%, 4.3%, 3.9% respectively and presented no significant issues in the continuous pilot testwork. The acid consumption was also modest, averaging around 400 kg/tonne.

It is not hard to work out how much nickel they will get from 1000 kg or ore, the corresponding price for that nickel and what 400kg of sulphuric acid costs. I've done some numbers using current prices but will leave it to others to do their own calculations ......................
