It's a fact. There's not a lot of options for filling voids ug with waste (they've already explored most of them) and that was when it was remnant airleg mining.
Mechanized mining requires much larger drive sizes and creates a lot more waste.
They've already had one extension of the waste dump and there wasn't much added to it then.
Have you actually googled the mine and seen the waste dump (and the surrounding country) let alone been near the place? The dump is the white/yellow gouge to the south.
The pictures don't do justice to the actual topo of the place. Getting environmental approvals to try and expand or create another waste dump is a steep hill to climb (pun intended) ; expensive, time consuming and at the mercy of the environmental authorities which aren't all that keen on seeing what is relatively pristine areas further opened up to mining operations.
Not impossible but highly unlikely.
