Porphyry's are elusive and deep. They nearly missed ridgeway with 16 or so holes within a few hundred metres of it - until they finally nailed it.

Also, if you check out the company presentations, you'd see that they've been talking about their strategy in comparison to previous attempts. They learnt a lot from the Cadia discoveries. To put it simply, previous drilling was in the wrong spot

There was a recent newsarticle "Father of Cadia" talking about how majors have renewed interest in the area now.... hoping to find the next gold giant

@Josh101. Seth Davis is quite right, these previous explorers focussed on the porphyry intrusion itself and pin cushioned it with drill holes. Although GCR did do some drilling of Spur and Dalcoath epithermals and WTM has leveraged off that earlier work. As to the main porphyry intrusion, the fact is that a major fault sliced through it , displacing a part and maybe the larger part as some speculate is buried somewhere else, maybe deeper down and despite some attempts Its not yet been found and no guarantee if it is ever found that it would deliver a bonanza. But then again ? So with that background WTM opted to focus on the epithermal zone, and with a good understanding of its possible lookalike ( Cowal) or even Ridgeway (next to Cadia mine). Looks like WTM's strategy is paying off big time

This is more than smoke, it's probably more like a raging bushfire. There are no guarantees of an economic gold deposit and the chances of finding a Ridgeway are actually quite remote. However, we are in the right address and have the right crew doing the work, and the right shareholder base.

Josh, just look at this cross section. Look at all the historical shallow lower grade and narrow intercepts. Nothing too exciting. However, where is the best place to find gold? Underneath where there is already gold. Now look at 007. Width has more than doubled, grade is higher, increasing down the hole to almost 10g/t. See the copper coming in? What do you think might be the result if you drill under that hole again? Will the trend continue? What if you have 15+ look alike surface lodes around a central earlier stage intrusion? What if some of these lodes join up at depth. What if these lodes are the upper portions of a pencil porphyry system at depth? Noone before WTM drilled under the surface gold. All the historical deep holes were looking for a copper deposit following the copper geochemistry signature of the central intrusion complex. I’ll leave it there but please take a look at some of my posts and others over the last 9 months.
