The technical preso from Mines and Wines includes some critical pieces of the puzzle that are important not to overlook while we all impatiently wait for more assays. The geochronology work is vital. Dating the rocks at Cargo provides insights into where the hydrothermal events at Cargo sit with reference to the key events in the overall belt. It is becoming increasingly evident we are not just surrounded by giants but our rocks are of similar age to them. If our rocks are too old or too young the geos at the majors may not get out of bed. For a Tier 1 deposit in this belt you need to be in the right hydrothermal event window. Slides 3-4 indicate we are in the sweet spot for monster creating hydrothermal events in the history of this belt. Although more work is required. This preso further supports the size potential.
The preso at the link below is highly insightful, describing geochronology and how very old rocks are dated using zircons. The Tropicana and Mt Isa examples towards the back half are good example of why age matters to the majors and should matter to us here as investors. That technical preso was not targeted at us, it was for the geos of the majors in the room.
