Not sure if anyone else has been following the Vitalharvest takeover battle but it’s been an interesting one with ROC and MIRA counter-bidding against each other multiple times. The Vitalharvest case study is somewhat unique due to the structure of the leases with CGC which provide upside through a profit sharing component. Nevertheless, it’s an interesting data point vis a vis HPP’s plans to offload its freehold land.
With SVH getting into macadamias and other agricultural assets being snapped up by asset managers there’s an opportunity to unlock real value here for shareholders if the board can get a good deal for the Kapua orchard. This has always been part of my thesis with HPP.
I await with interest the announcement of the outcome of the strategic review.
