not sure they need to be passionate - just have the ability to recruit good people. I ran an IT services business in Canberra for 30 years supplying the Federal Government. Don’t believe I was passionate about anything except trying to recruit top people and making sure admin and payments were good.
They do need to hold onto key personnel in the businesses they have bought and I guess that’s where the share plan for staff is important.
