Will get around to listening to this later but just wanted to share a story about patience, leadership, and business.
I recently left consulting to join a tech company that just reached unicorn status in their last funding round and is planning to go public next year. They are like young Salesforce, incredibly bright future ahead and a similar business model too.
What's funny is that the first 5 years they were struggling. They had a great product but couldn't sell it because it was in a completely new category that hadn't been legitimised by the market yet. They drifted about trying different approaches to get to where they wanted, until finally they hit the right one and valuation exploded. The majority of growth has been in the last 3 years.
I'm not saying that AJX will experience the same because hindsight is always 20/20 but my point is that it's not unusual for very successful companies to have had very difficult beginnings where at some point it looked like they weren't going to make it.
