i see the key being the last paragraph, the narrow underground mining is marginal with a smaller open pit project being slightly more attractive. this is the catalyst for the bulk tonnage testing and large open pit mining scenario that fme are pursuing. my read is that if the mining costs can be reduced then the deposit makes money.
in the op mining scenario i think we can all see the advantages of fme over gal right? gal have no op mining option unless it is economic to remove 150m of overburden.
