Q1. Yes but if you are 200m shallower, the pressure is likely to be less also.
Q2 It probably wouldn’t increase the pressure in a closed system. In an open system it would help maintain pressure. So if the size of the choke was small it would not make much difference but one would increase the choke size to get maximum flow without damaging the formation. At this point the larger the pay zone the better the maintained pressure and the quicker pressure would recover when the well is shut in. Shut ins and various choke sizes are tested in flow tests to see how a formation behaves .
