Thanks — looking back, I can see how my earlier post might have implied that full reimbursement is already in place in Israel, which wasn’t my intention.To clarify:

• The OncoSil device is approved for sale and is being used commercially at Wolfson Medical Center and Hadassah Hospital.
• Clalit Health Services has approved OncoSil as an appropriate treatment, but device reimbursement for patients isn’t yet in place — funding is currently private.

Clalit’s approval was an important step for building clinical adoption, not immediate reimbursement. That’s often how it progresses: first comes insurer recognition, then clinical use, and then broader funding pathways.
According to CEO Nigel Lange, OncoSil is now being used monthly in Israel, which shows real momentum in physician-driven adoption.
On the broader numbers — I completely agree the patient pool is there, and it's a fair point that private-pay numbers have been slower to build than you might expect.
But the reality is that even among patients who could afford to pay, uptake still depends on having trained oncologists and approved centres offering the treatment.
Patients generally don’t walk in asking for it — it’s physicians who drive usage, and expanding that physician base has taken time.
The key point is that this is a physician-led therapy, not something driven by patients directly requesting it.
As more oncologists are trained, hospital pathways are opened, and procedural confidence builds, broader patient access and reimbursement schedules should naturally follow.
The process has been painfully slow — and for many the dilution hasn't been fun — it's looked pretty grim at times. While Israel shows promising signs of growing clinical adoption, it's really the German G-BA-funded treatments that I'm hanging out for, as that's what should drive broader commercial success and real momentum across the business.
