The thing about salars is they stand out like bulls horns given they are white and the surrounds are not. Also being a lake they tend to be flat and not have hills. It seems about 8,660 hectares of Pursuit's tenements are on the surrounding bumpy brown stuff not on the flat white stuff. Even the caption on the photo indicates the bloke is standing near the border of the salar. There may be brine that has seeped under the hills surrounding the lake for all I know but most of Pursuit's tenement area is simply not on the salar.

Also Orocobre's Olaroz stage one always had a nameplate production figure of 17,500 tonnes a year. In 2012 they did a DFS based on 16,400 tonnes per year but by the time they went into construction the next year the nameplate had increased to 17,500 tonnes a year and it has been that ever since. I have no idea where he got it that Olaroz stage one was built to produce 20,000 tpa.
