What happened is the potential value trapped within ILA has been (partially) released. ILA should not have been trading at 7-8c post the acquisition of Galidisivir and heading into the Phase 2a/b for ISLA-101, but it was because the market knew they company needed $3.5m and had no realistic way of raising that amount of capital. The raise has allowed this trapped value to be released benefiting all shareholders.
The new director’s “sign-on bonus” didn’t come from existing shareholders (well technically it did as all the investors were already shareholders), but from the investors. We were all scaled back to make room for Chris’ allocation.
