Think you need to factor in the U turn from Deltato omicron being the dominant strain that was so different to delta. Originally they were running trials for Delta fir TGA FDA approval then omicron hit now we have BA 2 that is becoming dominant strain. This is the problem medical devices are having with a virus where the goal posts keep moving. So in my view by the time the trial starts in Spain BA2 will have overtaken BA1 and they have a clear base marker to work from.
