Retail could sell at the same time as Soph's, but couldn't take advantage in the same way, because they didn't have the same information or opportunity.

I see what I think you mean. You might be able to see the CR sell off dip coming, and take advantage of it, but you didn't have the full details of the entitlement offer when the Soph offer was issued, and your eligibility depended on the number of shares you held, so selling shares might even lock you out of it, on top of CGT implications etc.

It's still a way better deal to get 17c shares at 13c with free options for guaranteed profit now, than 10c shares at 13c with free options that make it almost a wash later, regardless.

I'll take the former anytime and the latter, never.
