Just pulled some data for the O&G space over the last three months (probably the hardest time in O&G history), this is purely in the M&A space for deals over $20mil AUD and unsurprisingly there have been a fair few deals, announced and completed!


Below I have highlighted in green the transactions that have been completed in the last 3 months, I used the three month time frame as a sample size to show activity is still happening.





For anyone who has said that O&G are dead, that is clearly incorrect. More deals in O&G happening in its darkest days than many other “flavour of the month” metals.


No doubt that if IVZ is successful in its potential drilling campaign it would appear on that list. The size of the prize is too great, the current market shortage in South Africa and the access to infrastructure makes it a no brainer for a major to take it out if it drills well.
