I came across the following post from @ozblue ....going back a few months....

Would not touch something more complicated and vastly more capital expensive like combined cycle, we have the gas but not the cash at present. Combined cycle adds another 10-15% efficiency on top of the 40% efficiency of plain turbines but will more than double the capital cost. If someone is buying in the gas, then combined cycle is the way to go.

Another option is a bank of Cummins diesel containerised generators. Each fits in a container so getting 25 of these isaround the same price as a 50MW gas turbine, around the same efficiency ~40% and much easier to transport and set up. About $30M for 50MW plant plus substation and connecting to the grid.

Some calculations.... There is about 277Kwh ofenergy in 1Gj. At 40% efficiency the gas-powered plant makes 277kw X 0.4 =110.8Kwh for every Gj of gas.
50MW plant will therefore use around 451.26Gj ofgas.

There is around 947 Cuft in 1Gj, soapproximately 947Cuft X 451.26 = 427,343 Cuft/hr would operate a 50MW powerplant.

427,343 X 24hrs X 365d/yr = ~3.75B cuft/yr

If we had just 1 trillion cuft of gas, we couldoperate a 50MW power plant for 266.66 years.

Even from the very preliminary numbers we have multiple trillions of cuft gas, so gas quantity is already not a problem, and this is just Mukuyu.

Less than 100km to major power grid.

Compressed natural gas at well site and truckedto mines that currently use diesel fired power plants is also an option forearly cashflow...

So, an estimated 427,343 cuft/hr would be 10.26 mmscf/d for a 50MW gas turbine at 40% efficiency (6.84 mmscf/d at 60% efficiency).
