So a 50MW power plant operating for 12 months 24/7 with some downtime for maintenance etc should generate about
$40 million per year at 10 cents per KWH selling price...seems fair? How much would the gas cost to be able to power such a plant as this...maybe 10 million cubic metres of gas per day based on your figures/assumptions?
Apologies for my rough sums but I like to convert the gas to money earnings...it makes us think long and hard about the actual viability of IVZ and how far they have to go in terms of successful wells drilled and gas production forthcoming.
Basically 10 million cubic metres of gas per day gets us what exactly in money terms if sold to power electricity plants?
With some sound reasoning and reasonable gas sell figures it shouldn't be too hard to get some back of envelope results
should it?
