A million Cuft of gas has an energy content of around 302MWh. Given 40% efficiency for conversion from gas energy to electricity would mean around 120MWh of electricity, or running 12MW of generating capacity for 10 hours.
So 2.4mmcf (mm for million cuft) of gas would run a 12MW generator/s for 24 hours. This would be around 876mmcf/yr.
Less than 1bcf for a years operation when we are talking Trillions of cubic feet in our leases. At $40/MWh it would bring in revenue of ~$45M/yr. The 50Mw plant would be great to get going ASAP....
As I'm writing this the wholesale price of electricity in Victoria according to AEMO web page is $76/MWh and reached a price of $276/MWh early this evening, so $40/MWh of produced electricity in Zimbabwe leaves plenty of profit for distribution and retailing...
