of course there is risk in everything and the reality of the risk was laid bare after the WA duster a few days ago. there is risk in every investment, you couldn't name a stock on the share market that couldn't 100% avoid heading back to $0.00 one day due to different sets of circumstances. what I have decided to base my investment on is the calculated potential. one day I bought a can of Coke, it had the same weight as a can of Coke, it was labelled as Coke, it came out of a carton of Coke but there must have been an issue with the filler and inside the can there had been separation. It didn't taste like it and it wasn't really Coke. but all signs pointed to the fact that it was in fact a full can of Coke, would you bet on it? I would.
