appreciate the clarification - so help me confirm my understanding: the context of the conversation was about the volatility of the share price and somewhere in that discussion there was a suggestion that one could take the opportunity to free carry after PL5 success if one wants to manage ones risk.
in a sense that "free carry" statement is very specific to you because of the context of the conversation that you and he established - it was about volatility you've seen and thus about ways to manage risk if you're not comfortable with the volatility.
so it appears that it was in no way a suggestion to the broader market to do that after PL5... Just two people (I assume) having a conversation.
id be willing to bet he didn't expect you to come away and post it on HC.
