DM, anticipating questions regarding the depressed SP immediately addressed the PR side of things. He just wanted to reassure everyone that this is now high on the agenda. Peter's main purpose is PR and getting the message out to industry that we exist and what we have. PR company was appointed with the same goal and working closely with Peter. An announcement will be made in mid May to outline the plans for PR, with the plan being implemented over the following months.

They were asked about 'competition' and rightly admitted that they cannot know for sure if there is a credible competitor out there due to the 'secrecy' that is inherent in tech development. Ting and Peter were very confident that if there was something out there then they would likely know about it.

Meeting with WD tomorrow. DM said it was unlikely any information would flow on to investors from this meeting. He said 4DS approached WD for the meeting, they didn't approach us. No real indication about what the meeting would cover or what 4DS wanted out of it. In private conversation with DM he said that if WD eventually take on a 'License ' it is unlikely to have a negative impact on the eventual 'buyout price' . He said there was no guarantee that WD would take on the license option anyway.

Ting appeared confident about PL6 scaling to 20nm given we are area based ReRam as opposed to filamentary ReRam ...... but he won't know the success /benefits of the scaling until the data is back from testing. There is no guarantee the data will reflect what they are expecting/hoping for.

Effectively hoping to partner with a major, who could well be the eventual buyer.

IMEC :-
When DM asked about the why PL4 hasn't been validated by IMEC or any other third party ie. with an official statement, DM said that their continued support and the level of support they are giving us in working on the 20nm goal is the 'validation' . They would not be supporting 4DS to the extent they are if they saw no future in it. Ting very heavily involved with the team at IMEC ..... in contact at least three times a week providing detailed instructions on every aspect of the development process. Very hands on.

In private I asked DM about 'stacking', he said this would be 'proven' 'after' PL6 success. I got the feeling from DM this was not expected to be an issue. I wish I had the opportunity to ask Ting this question. DM said that 'stacking ability' was a critical element to the eventual commercialisation success. Not sure about time frame on proving the stackability.

The impression I got was that DM is surprised the SP is so low, but not overly concerned about it.

I left the presentation feeling ok. Ting and Peter very upbeat, DM more conservative in his expectations...... I just think that is the lawyer in him being careful.

My gut instinct ..........is that I am surprised they feel they have to engage a PR company to engage with the industry. The purpose was stated as making us 'known' rather than boosting the SP. Surely, Peter could just knock on the door of the 10 biggest players and show them our wares. These companies would all know we have been working with IMEC for years, and are absolutely credible. I was thinking today about the Chelsea football team. I imagine they employ maybe 20 talent scouts to go around the world watching junior soccer games and signing up talent for the future. I can't believe that companies like Nvidia , Intel, Apple, Samsung et al.., don't have scouts out there looking for emerging technology and getting first bite at it to secure their future before their competitors get it. DM said again today that IMEC had promised to introduce us to four household names upon success at 20nm. .
I just don't get it. .......... why aren't we already knocking on the door of these companies or why aren't they knocking on ours.

I'm here for the long run.

Thanks for the summary. Unfortunately sounds like much of the same that we've been hearing in one form or another over the years.

Yes we are great, but no one knows and we cant figure out why. But dont worry we will be even better next year, then you'll see...then we will show them all.
