Also I just read my last comment and it came across a bit short, I am sorry for that haha. I didn't mean to be so blunt and sound like a prick.
Basically, my view is, you don't buy companies with contracting earnings (or earnings only growing through acquisition) for a long term hold or for income. The financial planning industry is contracting, I anticipate that IFL earnings will contract with it (amounts margins being squeezed on products by competitors).
I can understand why some here own IFL with the expectation that the SP will revert back upward if they can confirm that earnings arent as badly impacted as the market is pricing. I don't personally share that opinion as they are an 'old school business' hit by regulatory changes and I expect adviser numbers to dramatically reduce over the next 5 years.
IMO only, I may well be wrong.
