Makes the ANZ deal more likely to go ahead IMO. Not sure if that is good or bad now - lol.
Kelaher will probably say he is falling on his sword for the good of IOOF, but not because of any wrongdoing. The value of his performance rights was underwater, with the lowest bundled amount in the last AR at a fair val of $6.61 - if I understand that correctly. So there has been no major penalty, option value really.
Surprised it took so long, but I guess in the context of everything it had to be carefully considered for all parties.
