i think when we have money in a stock, our judgement will be clouded
And Australia firms have a pretty bad track record with acquisitions
think amp, slater, qbe, boral
just to name a few.
also when you look at ioof recent perform, ex acquisition, it’s been very inconsistent. We can blame it on regulation etc, but it is what it’s.
for them to convince the market; they can execute better with two significant acquisition, time will tell. No doubt if they do, it will be rewarded accordingly
i don’t like taking punts, when the odds are against the firm.
I rather pay a 20-30% premium to today’s price if and when they show results.
it’s better to buy a good quality at the right price, than a shit one at a cheap price
