I agree with your inferences around the structural selling. Although I think that at certain valuation levels, specifically as the stock gets "cheaper" volume may increase and some large lines can be expected to be fed through to institutions who actually like the acquisition and are patiently waiting to enter the stock.. So while it could take weeks, we could also see new buying demand appear which could clear overhang quicker than expected. It's all ifs and buts - we don't really know, but just another aspect worth mulling over!
