That's hardly the point.
The company has lost some smart people; without cause, it is now shown.

Imagine you owned a factory producing widgets.
And you employed in your factory a factory manager who was really good at his job and who had planned, overseen and executed significant expansion of your factory over many years.

And then one day someone from the local Council comes along and says,

"We are going to sue your manager because we think he has allowed a few of the factory's customers - possibly less than 1% of them - to at one stage several years ago, receive an small amount [*] less widgets than that for which they were invoiced. Not just that, but we are going to try to ensure that your manager is disqualified from ever managing a factory again."

And then, 9 months later - after your factory has potentially lost business and possibly not being maintained as well and its future growth plans have been put on hold - the courts rule that the Council had overreached.

I'm sure the reasonable response would be to feel aggrieved and thinking that you have been wronged (not to mention the financial losses and reputational damage that your former factory manager would have suffered... for doing nothing wrong, it transpires).


[*] So small, in fact, that it is insignificant enough for none of your customers to have noticed it at the time, nor in the years that followed.
