I won't comment on the Roam-E stuff but interesting about the new hoverboard tech:
They stated the number of sales "prior to safety issues" and they are using LFP batteries rather than Li-Ion (Lithium cobalt) batteries.
The main conclusion I can presume from this is that the main patent involves using Li-Ion batteries and thus they cannot use them OR there is such a huge safety risk from battery over-heating in their set-up that they had to change to LFP, a far more heat-stable battery.
Just FYI the capacity of LFP (in terms of w/volume) is half of Li-ion, so a full charge of the same volume battery will last half as long. That's a huge disadvantage to place on a gadget...
