It doesn’t - not a single one. It gives us the opportunity to secure new customers. Apparently only up to 35,000 of them, which is materially less than the number of Instagram followers from just one of our influencers. When we look at Kredivo and Paidy in SE Asia they have millions of customers - why on earth we’re paying up for potential access to only 35,000 is beyond any of us.
And I don’t think this is an aggressive move at all - in fact it looks like it’s about the least aggressive thing they could have done - use almost all their cash reserves buying into some old credit intermediary company with not many customers. Aggressive would be hiring hundreds of sales people, on-boarding thousands of merchants, mass marketing and international expansion, which is what the market thought they were doing. Anyway yes let’s hope there’s some masterstroke in here that no one can easily identify as yet.
