Me thinks that Stewart Nixon has been pushing much of the free user use of Nearmap to increase traffic across the site. I expect that some other board members are less patient to see rises in revenue and it's become a bit hot in the boardroom.

Personally, I believe more user pays will not only increase revenues but also send an important message to prospective users that this product has high value-add to businesses/government. I'm going to be interested to see if strategy starts to change post this announcement.
