Thanks for your insights. No doubt the copyright discussions are fraught, however IMHO its premature to characterise them as an existential threat. Copyright has always been a cost plus calculation for media monitoring , so once a level playing field of cost and rights is established it should nullify some pricing advantages enjoyed by ISD competitors. Monitoring companies had the very same sort of negotiations with the media players in the 80s with photocopying, in the 90s with faxing, in the 2000s with PDFs. Monitoring is not going away, it needs to be independent from the media players themselves and denying access to it is counter intuitive to the principles of the fourth estate.
