In my experience and over 50 years of financial family involvement media monitoring companies are stable during recessions. Information and reputation are even more important so clients don't drop off. Volumes to clients can fluctuate according to the high level of content around one talking point but often things that affect the economy as a whole are requested to be added to the brief , at least for a while.
