Per David Foster, Walter Reed hospital (who Island is collaborating with I believe) conducted phase 1 trials using the same virus as what will be used in the ILA study. Not sure if this is the same one as what that academic paper you mentioned discussed. My understanding is that an IND needs to be filed before any clinical trial (including phase 1), so my assumption is that the FDA is aware of this and has signed off on it before?

I could be wrong, happy to be corrected.
