    As other posters have mentioned, this was part of a deal agreed in 2019. Like many (most) acquisitions, vendors only get a portion of the purchase price up front, and the rest is earned out only if the vendor/asset achieves certain pre-agreed milestones (often aligned to sales and/or EBIT targets).

    In this case the deal was...we'll swap you some penny shares for the rights to your technology, even though we don't yet really know how good it is. If it turns out to be even halfway decent (and gets an IND) theres a truckload more stock coming your way. Shareholders thought that was a good deal because nobody likes stumping up cash for an untested bit of gear.

    So there we have it. Payday for those who were prepared to leave a big chunk on the table and prove they were right.

    The sp rise is def. due in part to this asset. If the price was 3c, posters would be in less of a tizzy. Illogical.
