Don't forget there is no capital gains discount on Options. Holding period only starts once converted.
So if your planning to hold and trade the listed option in a year or more, factor that in
i.e. if the share doubled from here in a year +
- Sold Oppies up 50c taxed on 50c
- Converted Oppies to shares early (ignoring required capital to convert) shares up 50c taxed on 25c
....BUT if you'd spent the above capital on more listed oppies @ 10c rater than converting you'd have 5 bagged
