You can't get hung up on your investment decisions mate. Of course if you feel you have made mistakes then learn from what you have done and then after that always look forward. A house deposit is an important milestone in your life, so don't down play it. Security for you/your family into the future. Not sure what part of Oz you are from but you will be doing better buying property now than if you had bought a couple of years ago in most places.
