rj, I never mentioned installation. (I said the interface was clunky). I never saw installation. I think they have packaged their software and configuration on top of a standard Linux distribution, so it should be straightforward to install.
The idea that something "seamlessly integrates" with existing applications is marketing BS. The IWG product has its own database, web server, email system, and other things, so if you already have your own versions of those components you are going to have a job integrating with it. Pretty much everyone in the industry claims things like "seamless integration" so I have no real complaint with IWG there. Such hollow promises provide me with a decent living.
I would say that the idea of setting this VSP thing up without qualified IT staff is just plain untrue. You need to understand domains, CNAMEs, network shares, multi homed network systems, and all sorts of other things, and that is before you get to the VIN which is whole world of complexity all on its own. This is why they are going the reseller route. Employing a support staff to install and maintain many installations of the VSP product is going to be expensive and will not scale up to big numbers. Unfortunately it does not look like resellers are too keen to take the beating either.
As I said in a previous post, the awards they won were all from 5 years ago. IWG have failed to capitalize on them, or even turn a modest profit. The whole world has moved on since then. Which isn't to say the security issues have all been fixed, but the iWebGate VSP certainly isn't the solution to many of them.
Everyone is waiting on the reseller deals, but even if they "come to fruition" you are missing the next important piece in the puzzle: they need to make actual sales which justify the share price. Corporate customers are not dumb, and IMHO anyone who looks at the VSP is quickly going realize the quality of what they are looking at regardless of who is trying to sell it to them.
