Yes you're correct, the ore sorting is for the lower grade feed. subsequently being blended with the higher grade (from the SS).
In respect to plant size, I guess they have gone through the numerous iterations of "capex-NPV-IRR-debt-Capital Raise" to derive the best outcome, so the conclusion seems to be that bigger may not be better in this instance.
With a target of inexcess of 500Kt of M&I (through a 2.7 Mtpa plant @ (say) 1% grade) they will be spreading cashflows over a much longer period. Gut feel this doesn't seem the best, but I have faith that they are on top of what is the best outcome overall.
Similarly they also have used the words "potential future mine expansion" as well, so there is some room for upgrade down the track. Just not sure what form that will take.
I guess we can now see more clearly the DFS outcomes now, if 2.7 is the plant size.
